Over the past week, your local Aylestone Neighbourhood Policing Team has been out on the streets taking a closer look at year‑on‑year crime trends and making sure residents have the right advice to keep themselves and their property safe.

PCSO Vincent Preston has been speaking with residents, visiting key locations, and sharing tailored crime‑prevention advice based on the types of offences we’ve seen reported in the area. By understanding the trends, we can work more effectively with the community to help reduce crime and improve confidence.

👮‍♂️ What we’ve been talking about:
Our team has been handing out a range of leaflets covering some of the most common issues affecting Aylestone, including:

🔐 Vehicle Crime
Tips on preventing theft of and from vehicles, making your car less of a target, and simple steps that make a big difference—like removing valuables from view and checking your doors are properly locked.

🧰 Theft From Vans
Advice for tradespeople and van owners, focusing on secure parking, lock upgrades, tool marking, and how to register valuable items to help recover them if stolen.

🏘️ Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB)
Information on recognising ASB, how to report it, and what support services are available locally. We’re also encouraging residents to let us know about repeat issues so we can target patrols more effectively.

📍 Visible Engagement Across the Area
You may have seen us out and about around Aylestone—chatting with residents, visiting shops, checking in with businesses, and answering questions on the doorstep. These conversations help us understand what matters most to you, while giving us the chance to share practical advice based on the latest figures.
